Hot lipsticks for the summer!

Ive been away for a little while…. looking for inspiration and trying out new makeup and skincare products.
But I'm now and ready to get back to blogging about what I love and to keep y'all updated on all the exciting new products that are out there

I seem to have an obsession with the colour pink lately.. and like colours with a pinky purple hue.
The great thing about all the lipsticks listed is that it can suit any skintone and can be worn day or night. Don't be afraid to be bold, bright and beautiful this summer!
So lets gets started!

1. Sleek Mystic True Colour Lipstick

This Lipstick has a matte finish is a bright  purply- pink colour which has more of a purple tone that pink. Its a lovely colour to rock this summer.
This is available for purchase at Superdrug stores and online
At only £4.99 this is such a bargain!

2. MAC Huggable Lipstick in Glamourized

MAC have launched a limited edition of satin finished creamy lipsticks luminous colours for the summer. I particularly this shade called Glamourized which is described on the MAC website as a creamy vibrant pink. Be sure to get your hands on this one asap and check out the other colours in this collection!

3.  MAC Heroine Lipliner + MAC Herione lipstick+ Divine Choice Minerailize Rich  lipstick = HOT LIPS!

Heroine is a bright purple

Divine Choice is a mid-tonal cool pink lipstick

Here is a photo of the above lip combination on myself:

Mac heroine lipliner and lipstick mixed with Divine choice

I love Heroine  lipstick by MAC and have been wearing it alone for a while now… I wanted to remix the look up a little bit and decided to play around and have now found by go to lip combo for summer. So again this is more of a light purple colour with a soft pink hue in the centre and look absolutely amazing on.
After lining the lips with Heroine lipliner then applying the Heroine on top I then blot my lips with tissue. I then apply the Divine choice Lipstick to the centre of my lip and smooth out to the upper lip. You can create an ombre look making the centre lips look lighter with divine choice and  the outer darker with the heroine. Otherwise you can blend it all together to create one beautiful purple hue.

4.  Nars Carthage

Is a matte hot pink from NARS lipstick range. Looks stunning on!

5.Angela

Is from the audacious Nars lipstick range. Its a gorgeous pink orchid and has a creamy finish which lasts for hours. Nars lipsticks are richly pigmented so the quality is evident once applied.
6. Michiyo

Is also another colour from the Nars collection which is fabulous on. If you do find the lipstick a bit to heavy apply with a brush to get an even distribution of the product on your lips.

Have you tried any of the lipstick above or know of any hot lipstick you rock this summer?

Be Bold, Bronzed and Beautiful!!

Now who loves bronzers?

I do! To be honest I wear bronzers all year round but they are particularly effective in summer!
When the sunshine lights up your face especially where the bronzer has been applied you'll start glowing like a golden goddess!

Being dark skinned it can be hard to find a bronzer tat compliments my skin tone; but after all my research and comparisons amongst a variety of makeup brands I have found my 2 favourite bronzers:

Nars Multiple Bronzer in Palm beach

I beautuful creamy finish with golden shimmers it looks stunning on and really suits my complexion. It gives my face a lovely glow. It very subtle and can be layered on for a more bold look if required.

I first overall using the bronzer stick apply it onto my face in one stroke which create a bold line across my face, then using a boots ecotools kabuki brush blend out the bronzer for a more natural look and Voila! I'm ready to go.

Estee Lauder Blush in Bronze Shimmer

Yes I know it is defined as a blush but makeup if about having fun and experimenting. In my eyes it looks like more of a bronzer against my skin tone. Its a bit lighter in shade that the  Nars Palm beach multiple bronzer and this has a matte finish.

My daily make up routine

This is my current makeup routine which I feel works best for me, Please feel free to comment below with any ideas or questions you may have.

I first of all cleanse my face with Dermalogica's  Derma Clay cleanser and follow that up with the active moist Moisturiser:
I then apply Simple's Kind To Eyes  Revitalising Eye Roll on Gel.  Its  a cool eye gel to remove puffiness from underneath the eyes making me look refreshed.

I apply Boots aloe vera eye cream to create the perfect canvas to smooth on concealer underneath my eyes. It is a lightweight non-greasy eye cream.

While allowing the cream to sink in under my eyes. I would then apply the YSL Touche Eclat foundation in B80 with a sponge or foundation brush.

I then would apply a NARS creamy stick concealer in the shade called 'Amande' under my eyes. I blend that in with my ring finger.

To create a little more of a brightened eye look under my eyes I apply MAC's studio fix concealer  in NW40 and pat that in gently with my ring finger

I use the translucent powder from a Bobbi Brown concealer set to set my concealer under my eyes and prevent the concealer from creasing into the fine lines under my eyes. I use a blusher brush to even out the distribution and gently pat it under my eyes.

Now unto the eyeshadow:
I use MAC paint pot in the shade Quite Natural as a primer over my eyelid to allow my eyeshadow to last longer throughout the day.

This is then followed by MAC eyeshadow in the shade Twinks which I apply over my eyelid with an eyeshadow brush.

I use Benefit They're Real  Mascara on my upper lashes

I would then apply a blusher. The blushers I use change from day to day depending on my mood or what look I have in mind. But I regularly use  the Raizin  blusher from MAC.

Lastly I would apply a lipstick I currently love NARS lip pencil in the shade Bahama.

My current foundation : YSL Touche Eclat Foundation

I feel that the most important part of achieving a successful overall makeup look is the foundation. It the  base of where all the other makeup is applied on top of. If the foundation doesn't pop then the whole overall look is ruined.
I like my foundation to have a natural looking effect so I would like the undertones of the shade of the foundation to be as close to my skin tone as possible.
The foundation I currently use is the YSl Touche Eclat foundation which I have been using for the past couple of years.  I love this particular foundation because its a light weight foundation with buildable coverage. I would say that this foundation provides sheer to medium coverage.
According to YSL the foundations 'conceals imperfections while enhancing skins natural beauty'.

I have tried a number of different foundations but feel that this works the best for me. It looks great in natural lighting as well as indoors.
This foundation can easily be applied with a foundation brush or even a sponge to enable a a precise and seamless finish unto the face.
The great thing about this foundation is that it caters for a range of skin tones from those with porcelain skin to golden brown to ebony tones.

I use the shade B80 which suits my complexion the best.
